ART SALE!
My mind is always turning.... there are always ideas to do this, or what if I did this... turning, turning, turning. So I am finally getting my crap together for my little art/photography/freelance graphic designer business called "Studio E Designs". New logo on right....
I am having a few HUGE sales this summer. I have a large 20x30 posters ready to be printed and laminated at OfficeMax, new business cards, etc... I have taken an inventory of EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF ARTWORK (whew!) that I am going to sell. New stuff and old (old as in college artwork, some of my best too!). I have 100's of photos and artwork to sell, everything from ceramics, silkscreen prints, to watercolors and drawings (ink, charcoal, pencil)... you name it!
I am proposing that my airbrushed handmade paper will sell quick, and my watercolors as well as my photos. The thing is that when some of this stuff is gone, its gone. I doubt I will ever have a chance to airbrush handmade paper again, make ceramic mugs, or do silkscreens, or even film prints (need a darkroom)....thank you very much Bluffton College for your facilities. :) But I will still make watercolors and do photography for sure. Those two are my favorite mediums!
It should be good! I am excited. I am selling everything for CHEAP! And I am willing to negotiate prices on everything except for my photographs. Those will be priced at $10.00 for an 8x10. My highest priced item is $100.00, that is my 24x36 framed airbrushed handmade paper piece. It has gold leaf on it and just absolutely beautiful. But 90% of my work is under $20 bucks! Silkscreen prints for $1.00! Its crazy!
I am hoping to get some new clients too for either artwork or graphic design. The sale will be held in Clintonville at my sister's house in June and one in July.
I will post the date and time later. If you need the address, please email me or leave your email address and I will surely contact you.

Great Weekend
Finally, a weekend that I accomplished everything on my "to-do" list. I was still working on laundry from the cruise, and ironing and just putting things away tonight. I dusted, swept, and organized!
Saturday, Ryan and I went on a picnic at Hoover Reservoir. It was so beautiful! We took Fender along too, and he loved it! Then I ran to Petsmart, Walmart, and the Apple Store to get some essentials. We then had a relaxing evening watching lord of the rings and working on laundry.
My sister's and I went to Costco this morning... loved it! I am one of those people that LOVE LOVE LOVE to stock up on things. So today I bought in bulk paper towels, kleenex's, tp, toothpaste, body wash, lysole, oxi-clean, tampons (woh-ho!)... lol. It was awesome. Heather has a membership there, I think it is like $50 a year... I will get my own member ship after I have kids in like 5 years, but until then I will just tag along with her. It was good, love that place.
It was so nice to finally have good weather. We sat outside on our back porch for the first time this spring! It was so nice!
Well, Lord of the Rings 3 is on.... Oh Legalos! :)

I would not be disappointed...

I would not be disappointed if one day,
One day I was old and alone.
My children were grown up,
my husband has passed on,
and I was alone.
I lived most of my life, I had nothing to look ahead for.
I would not be disappointed.
I would not be disappointed, not even close,
If I moved to Miami, I moved to Miami Beach.
At Miami Beach, I lived with 3 other old women,
Three other women, who were old like me.
Their children were grown up, their husbands had passed on,
And they were alone too.
You three women, you know who you are.
I would not be disappointed if one was a teacher*, an English teacher.
One was a fox*, while another was naive and innocent*.
And then there was fourth, a feisty elder*.
I would not be disappointed if one day, we lived in Miami.
No longer alone, but had one another.
I would not be disappointed if during this time:
* two of us tried to write a song about the city of Miami
* three of us tried to breed minks
* we all got stranded on a deserted island
* two of us dressed up as nuns, for whatever reason
* the feisty one just wanted to go to Disney World
* three of us ended up at a nude resort
* We would sit around and eat cheesecake, talking about the past
I would not be disappointed.
I would not be disappointed, if one day I am old and alone,
my children were grown up, my husband has passed on,
And I wouldn't be alone, cause I'd be with you.
You three women, you know who you are.
But you aren't just women, you are my dearest friends.
You three friends, you know who you are.
And I would not be disappointed, not one bit.

Vacation is nearing....
I am sooo sick of cold weather. I have been praying that the snow will just stop coming and the sun will stay for good. But it just seems to go back and forth. It truley interrupts a girl's new wardrobe.
But on Thursday, my entire family (including Ryan and I) are leaving for a 4 day cruise in the Bahamas. AND WE NEED IT. We have been so dang stressed out over work, our roof leaking, my computer dying, Ryan wanting to fish (weather never cooperates), and just so much stuff. WHEW! We are tired. I am hoping this cruise gets us re-energized and focused for the next coming months: parties, weddings, gardening, landscaping, dealing with typical house stuff, saving up for a new roof, trying new career goals, buying a new computer, garage sale, art sales, making new stuff for the art sales.... the list goes on and on.
I just pray the Lord helps us get through the next couple months... I have a feeling we are going to be all over the place. Which is not all bad, but just crazy! Maybe I am just tired from an exhausting weekend with the families, driving all over Ohio... I need a glass of red wine right now.
But, I just need to take one day at a time, or one week at a time (I am a planner :) ).
Here's to SPRING/SUMMER 2008:

It's a very sad day

Oh, the sadness that has came over my heart. Today, I found out that my dear, dear iMac computer is dying. YES! It is so sad.
I got it when I was a Junior in college, and I have loved it more everyday. Recently it has been shutting down applications out of the blue and freezing, just unexpectantly. I have taken it into the Apple store 4 times now, and today they said that it is just getting too old to handle all my work. :( There is really nothing that can be done.
This is bad for two reasons, one: we really don't want to buy another $2000.00 computer at this time because we are trying to pay off some bills. Two: MY LIFE is on that computer, pictures, videos, resume and important files, portfolio.... ehhhh! It makes me want to cry.
It still works, but will not keep a screen up for very long. Everything shuts down. It will work for a little while, but I know, within the next couple months, I will have to break down and buy a new one. This is GOOD for two reasons, one: I can now get a laptop, which means I will be on my computer more than ever! Two: I will have more opportunites to do things like photo contests that require a computer to burn the images and graphic design work that I can take with me everywhere! But it does put a crunch in the budget, I mean a 2000.00 computer is not cheap for anyone. But I need it to do my design work and I need it to get through life...LOL sad to say, but it is true. I just bought the CS3 programs, and I can't let that go to waste! For gosh sakes! That wasn't cheap either!!!!!!
So that is what is going on today. There is a bad feeling I have about this. I knew eventually the day would come when this would happen, but I didn't think it would be this soon.
