I would not be disappointed...

I would not be disappointed if one day,

One day I was old and alone.

My children were grown up,

my husband has passed on,

and I was alone.

I lived most of my life, I had nothing to look ahead for.

I would not be disappointed.

I would not be disappointed, not even close,

If I moved to Miami, I moved to Miami Beach.

At Miami Beach, I lived with 3 other old women,

Three other women, who were old like me.

Their children were grown up, their husbands had passed on,

And they were alone too.

You three women, you know who you are.

I would not be disappointed if one was a teacher*, an English teacher.

One was a fox*, while another was naive and innocent*.

And then there was fourth, a feisty elder*.

I would not be disappointed if one day, we lived in Miami.

No longer alone, but had one another.

I would not be disappointed if during this time:

* two of us tried to write a song about the city of Miami

* three of us tried to breed minks

* we all got stranded on a deserted island

* two of us dressed up as nuns, for whatever reason

* the feisty one just wanted to go to Disney World

* three of us ended up at a nude resort

* We would sit around and eat cheesecake, talking about the past

I would not be disappointed.

I would not be disappointed, if one day I am old and alone,

my children were grown up, my husband has passed on,

And I wouldn't be alone, cause I'd be with you.

You three women, you know who you are.

But you aren't just women, you are my dearest friends.

You three friends, you know who you are.

And I would not be disappointed, not one bit.

Vacation is nearing....

I am sooo sick of cold weather. I have been praying that the snow will just stop coming and the sun will stay for good. But it just seems to go back and forth. It truley interrupts a girl's new wardrobe.

But on Thursday, my entire family (including Ryan and I) are leaving for a 4 day cruise in the Bahamas. AND WE NEED IT. We have been so dang stressed out over work, our roof leaking, my computer dying, Ryan wanting to fish (weather never cooperates), and just so much stuff. WHEW! We are tired. I am hoping this cruise gets us re-energized and focused for the next coming months: parties, weddings, gardening, landscaping, dealing with typical house stuff, saving up for a new roof, trying new career goals, buying a new computer, garage sale, art sales, making new stuff for the art sales.... the list goes on and on.

I just pray the Lord helps us get through the next couple months... I have a feeling we are going to be all over the place. Which is not all bad, but just crazy! Maybe I am just tired from an exhausting weekend with the families, driving all over Ohio... I need a glass of red wine right now.

But, I just need to take one day at a time, or one week at a time (I am a planner :) ).

Here's to SPRING/SUMMER 2008:

It's a very sad day

Oh, the sadness that has came over my heart. Today, I found out that my dear, dear iMac computer is dying. YES! It is so sad.

I got it when I was a Junior in college, and I have loved it more everyday. Recently it has been shutting down applications out of the blue and freezing, just unexpectantly. I have taken it into the Apple store 4 times now, and today they said that it is just getting too old to handle all my work. :( There is really nothing that can be done.

This is bad for two reasons, one: we really don't want to buy another $2000.00 computer at this time because we are trying to pay off some bills. Two: MY LIFE is on that computer, pictures, videos, resume and important files, portfolio.... ehhhh! It makes me want to cry.

It still works, but will not keep a screen up for very long. Everything shuts down. It will work for a little while, but I know, within the next couple months, I will have to break down and buy a new one. This is GOOD for two reasons, one: I can now get a laptop, which means I will be on my computer more than ever! Two: I will have more opportunites to do things like photo contests that require a computer to burn the images and graphic design work that I can take with me everywhere! But it does put a crunch in the budget, I mean a 2000.00 computer is not cheap for anyone. But I need it to do my design work and I need it to get through life...LOL sad to say, but it is true. I just bought the CS3 programs, and I can't let that go to waste! For gosh sakes! That wasn't cheap either!!!!!!

So that is what is going on today. There is a bad feeling I have about this. I knew eventually the day would come when this would happen, but I didn't think it would be this soon.

Framing Things...

I love photos and I love art. I especially LOVE black and white photos. I recently dug deep into my iPhoto and had about 8 photos turned to black and white and printed for my walls. I had some honeymoons photos printed and some just random artsy photos printed... I love them. I want to mat and frame them for my wall along the stairs and also the walls in my dining room.... I must admit, its a little scary thinking about doing a collage of photos all over my novella walls...YIKES! Holes everywhere! But I see it time and time again in the Pottery Barn book and I know I can do it!

Another idea I have come to love is framing cards. For some reason it is soooo hard for me to buy art and put it up on my walls, mainly because I look at it and say "I can do that!". But its hard to find the time to sit down and actually do it. I just can't put someone elses art up, besides mine or someone who I love (Monet, Michelangelo & Ansel Adams photography), those, I would be proud to hang.

For a limited time on the USPS.com website, you can send a John Adams quoted card for FREE. I love the one quote thats says "Forever I will be your admirer, lover... etc..."(See photo). So I sent it to myself so I can frame and put somewhere.... Yay! I am excited. I would look great in my front formal room.....

I NEED this pillow...

So, I am an awful blogger, truly awful. But I love this pillow so much that I had to post it. Its from Pier One and its in their new SPRING line.
I go back and forth on how I am decorating the house... this winter, I was all about traditional feel, with burgandy's and warmth, with a touch of country. Now, I am all about my artsy/creative side, picking out bright colors and funky patterns. Which, I guess thats okay. It just seems that my mind can't figure out which style to go to.
Back to the pillow... this will be a for sure purchase for me. Perfect for my front slate blue room. I also recently bought a beautiful orchid from Home Depot, yes, its real. I am not big on having real plants, mainly because I forget to take care of them. But this white orchid, its huge for one thing, comes up to my waist. Its so pretty, I had to buy it. AND, I bought a red pot to put it in, which will match this pillow. Ahhh, I love decorating. :)

Holy Crap!

Sooooo..... my last blog was in July. Wow! I didn't realize it has been that long. Sorry everyone, whoever is left to look at my blog. LOL

Wow, so much has happened in the past 5 months. Well, not anything too too exciting.
No, no baby yet. I get that question asked about 3 times a month.... I think around 20 times just in the month of December! Ryan and I are not ready for a baby. We are enjoying our time together and with Fender. If it ever happened though, we would of course be excited. But for now and the next year, the baby-delete pill will still be taken.

Both of our jobs are going very well. I love my job at OSU and work with the best people ever. Ryan is top trainer in Columbus and is kicking butt. His clients love him, and he is truly an amazing trainer.

We got a new nephew in the month of September. Ryan's sister Rachel had a baby boy, Luke Enrique. He is just precious and looks just like Ricardo. One of my best friends, Jill, also had a baby boy in the month of November. Hunter Eugene was born on November 4th (I think it was the 4th). Alot of babies. My college roomie, Amanda is currently 6 months pregnant with her first. It is also going to be a boy. She is due at the beginning of May. And now the latest is my cousin Erika, who is due in August. Lots of diapers. LOL

Halloween was awesome. I had my first annual Halloween party. It was a very large party, around 50 people. It was quit stressful, and I will probably never have another party that big again. Some are just not mature enough to realize that this is an adult party and not to trash things... but it was good. Next year I will for sure do things differently. Live and learn.

Christmas came and went so quickly. Lots of traveling, lots of family. I can't say that I wasn't exhausted by the time we got back on Wednesday night. I was ready for my house and my bed. Thank God the holidays are only once a year. LOL As quoted from Christmas Vacation" Its Christmas and We're all in misery." LOL No, it wasn't that bad. Just tiring, but it is for everyone.

I turned 25 on January 10th. Crazy, I know. I was excited to receive a beautiful Tiffany's necklace from Ryan... and purchased pearl earrings with money from my mom and dad. It was a pretty good birthday. I didn't do anything too exciting. Just relaxed and chilled.

I finally re-did my upstairs guest bathroom. It is now tan (no more boarder) and has green accents. I made it sort of a ZEN bathroom with rocks and bamboo. Much, much better.

I also painted the upstairs hallway this past weekend. It was a greyish color (weird, I know) and I painted it a cremey white. Very nice! I want to get the stairwell professionally painted (its too high for me). That will be probably this summer. I hope to have a black and white gallery going up the stairs and in the hall. All black and white photos with black frames. Ahhh- love it.

Well, I think that is it for now.

Artsy is my Middle Name....

No, actually my middle name is Nicole, BUT artsy is what I have been feeling lately. Ever since I bought my Canon XTi (which I absolutely LOVE), my creative side has been bursting from all sides. With all the photos I have been taking, I have been trying to put up more artwork in the house. I haven't put much up since we have moved in because I was certain on the type of artwork to put places..... (i am very particular about my art).... BUT NOW frames are going up all over the place.

I am a "black frame" girl.... meaning I love everthing with a black frame around it...not silver, not gold, BLACK! So yesterday I bought two cheap black frames with mats at Target... the frame was 8x10 with a mat for a 4x6 print. i have decided to hang these two frames vertically by my front door, which is near the slate blue room... to add my creative "Zing" to the mats, I covered each mat with a piece of scrapbook paper. The one paper is of dots, the other is of funky flowers, which both have the navy blue color like in the living room walls and also orange, because I have two orange pillows as my accent color.... VOLLA! So easy, So inexpensive... now, just need two photos to put in them!!! Black and white preferably!

The Newest Family Member...

No- I am not pregnant. But we do have a new little guy who has joined the Nusbaum Family. Please meet Canon XTi. YES!!!!! Its my new baby!

Who is so pumped that she screamed in the car after she bought it... ME! Yup... I am so estatic I can barely stand it. I have wanted a sweet Digital SLR since I was a Junior in College. Finally, my dreams have been answered. AMEN!

This camera is AMAZING... It was a hard decision between this Canon XTi and the new Nikon D40x.... but in the end, after careful consideration from friends.... the Canon won. And I am very happy with my choice. Now, let the fun begin!
